Why It Pays To Be A Category Creator
by Eddie Yoon and Linda Deeken – Harvard Business Review – March 2013
Every company should be aspiring to be a category creator as mentioned in an article in the March edition of the Harvard Business Review.
Authors Eddie Yoon and Linda Deeken discuss research among Fortune’s 100 fastest growing US companies from 2009 – 2011 which found that the 13 companies instrumental in creating their categories accounted for 53% of incremental revenue growth and 74% of incremental market capitalization growth over those three years.
Being a category creator is not the rule for some, but it is the exception that helps separate the growing companies from the stagnant ones.

The Pantone Color of the Year Lends Itself to St. Patrick’s Day
By Ethan Boldt, taken from Target Marketing Magazine and North American Publishing Company
2013 Pantone Color of the Year: Emerald Green, for the most part, has taken designers and color experts for a surprise. Some say it is too formal, or just an accent color, but Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Institute, says Emerald Green is the color of rejuvenation, the color of progress and upward motion.
We also like to associate the color with St. Patrick’s Day. So as you lift your Guinness high and salute to Patron Saints of Yore’, remember that Emerald Green is a sign of upward motion, and hopefully a rejuvenating Monday.
