Printing Concepts has received its 2013 SFI, PEFC, and FSC Green Printer Certifications. With renewing our certifications this time around, we are a certified green printer until the next 5 years, until 2018. Throughout the process, we were often commended on our superb ability to promote our green printing abilities and offering new ways for printing for our clients.
We have always operated with an environmentally friendly attitude and are proud to be a certified “Green” printer. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) have reviewed our facility and have given us the Chain of Custody (CoC)Certification. These organizations focus on the CoC process, which documents the entire path taken by a tree from the forest to the mill, to the printer, and to the end-user consumer.
The decision to “go green” was an easy one, because it was something asked of us by our customers. Michael Martin, owner of Printing Concepts, Inc., mentions that,“A customer came to us and said they wanted to be able to use Chain-of-Custody certified materials in their printed communication products. It was important to them and that made it important to us. We conducted some initial research and the more we learned, the more we knew that this was more than a simple investment we were going to make in order to be able to meet the requirements of a single customer. It would be an important step for Printing Concepts and could be an important tool for all our customers, many of whom operate educational and medical institutions, companies and organizations already focused on maintaining environmentally responsible practices.”
