The 40/40/20 Rule

Parts taken from “40/40/20 Rule of Direct Mail Marketing”-

If you have worked in direct mail, odds are you have heard of the “Rule of 40-40-20.” It states that 40 percent of direct mail success depends on a well-targeted audience, 40 percent includes a compelling incentive offer, and 20 percent depends on well-executed creative work and everything else.

Many printed marketing pieces focus heavily on design to persuade their audience to take the next step in the purchasing process. Great layout and design alone, however, won’t propel your direct-mail marketing efforts to success status. How can focusing on the mostly the audience and incentive push people to engage your company more?

The Science Behind Colors in Marketing

From Fast Company: written by Leo Widrich – founder of Buffer, a social sharing engine.

Why is Facebook blue? According to The New Yorker, the reason is simple. It’s because Mark Zuckerberg is red-green color blind; blue is the color Mark can see the best.

Not highly scientific, right? That may not be the case for Facebook, but there are some amazing examples of how colors actually affect our purchasing decisions. After all, sight is the strongest developed sense in most human beings. It’s only natural that 90% of an assessment for trying out a product is made by color alone. Why is color such a powerful tool to persuade the audience to act?

What It Means to be Green

By Printing Concepts; parts taken from FSC, SFI, PEFC and the Rainforest Alliance.

At Printing Concepts, we have always operated with an environmentally friendly attitude. It is our goal to set the standard for green printing, which is why we were the very first printer in the region to receive FSC, SFI, and PEFC Certifications. The decision to “go green” was an easy one, because it was something asked of us by our customers. What did we do to become the leader in sustainable printing practices in our region?
